The Reckless Renny
The Journey Begins
11/26/21
On November 20th I decided to trade in my 2017 Ford Fusion as it had hit just over 100k miles. I came across a beautiful Colorado Red 2021 Jeep Renegade Jeepster Edition. After some negotiation and a bit of paperwork I left with The Reckless Renny with just over 120 miles on the odo. This website will be dedicated to the documentation of my journey with Reckless as I make it a bit more fun than it came stock. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and TikTok. @TheRecklessRenny
I've Been Ducked!
11/27/21
The fam and I took Reckless shopping today and I was pleasantly suprised to discover that I had been ducked! I didn't even think about the possibility being as Reckless isn't a Wrangler but I guess there are some awesome folks in the Jeep community that feel otherwise! Thanks VooDoo! Also, while shopping I decided to grab some battery powered Christmas lights to hang inside Reckless. I think it looks good, but I can't wait to get my roof rails so I can string them on the top. Tint coming Monday!
5% Tint is legal.....Right?
11/29/21
We took Reckless to get the windows tinted today. 35% on the front and 5% on the rest. I think it looks great, even though I was told it looks like a Matchbox Car. Other exterior updates coming very soon. I should get a bucket of ducks and custom cards to start ducking my fellow Jeep owners within the week :)
Reckless is my name...
12/4/21
I finally found the time to cut Reckless' name out of vinyl on the plotter at work. I have the hood decal and roof vinyl coming. Also, I found a lift kit and spacers from the Modified Jeep Renegade group on FB. Should be here soon!
Hood decal is on. Next?
12/10/21
The hood decal I ordered off of Etsy came in today. I was able to convince my brother to help me install it. I also, threw on a cheap wreath to help celebrate the holidays. No roof rails yet so it will be hard to throw lights on. Next year she will shine like a Christmas tree!
Finally found a little mud...
12/12/21
I had an opportunity to get Reckless a little dirty. Without wheel spacers the mud stayed in the wheel wells, but she was a blast in the mud. Can't wait to do more. Roof vinyl coming soon!
Roof is blacked!
12/13/21
Even with Reckless super dirty I was able to get the vinyl I bought to cleanly install on the roof. Had a ton of help from my bro who is a beast at wrapping cars. It looks mean now! Can't wait for roof rails. I just replaced my interior lights, headlights, and tag lights to LEDs. She is nice and bright now!
Emblems are blacked too!
12/14/21
Dale and I needed to fix part of the roof vinyl on the passenger side due to Reckless being dirty. I went ahead while we were at it and blacked all of my emblems out to match. She is coming together!
2" RC Lift has been installed
12/20/21
The picture on the top left is after and the one on the bottom is before the 2" lift and 1.25" spacers were installed. It looks so much more aggressive! I am researching tire and wheel combinations. Hopefully I will get rock lights and such soon!
Also check out the pic below to see Reckless sitting next to a stock Renegade, and the Kia Soul everyone claims Reckless looks like.
I made a funny decal....
12/22/21
After hearing so much about the Renegade not being a Wrangler I made a decal that makes it a non-issue from now on. Reckless is for all intents and purposes a Wrangler now.
Merry Christmas!
12/25/21
A very Merry Christmas from Reckless to you and yours! I hope you get everything on your wish list and more! Reckless was gifted a set of Weathertech floor mats and a Weathertech windshield cover!
She has evolved!
12/28/21
I made a clip showing the evolution of Reckless Renny from purchase until now! Enjoy the transition!
Snow? What Snow?
01/06/22
The new year brought with it some crazy TN weather! We got a total of 9" of snow which is absolutely unheard of any more in TN. We had the chance to play in the snow and Reckless genuinely didn't even flinch. This little Jeep is a beast.
Sumner County Jeep Crew
01/06/22
I listened the whole way home to the walkie chat of the Sumner County Jeep Crew running rescue operations for drivers who got stuck in the snow, but without a winch and no hooks I had to sit this one out. I hope to have the option to help next time!
Why not try something Reckless?
01/07/22
I didn't name my baby Jeep Reckless without the intention of trying something Reckless.....Here she is going through a 5' deep drainage ditch while covered in snow. I can't wait to get some AT tires, this would be so much more fun then....
